Many things have been said about money. Lack of it is the root of all evil, it makes the world go 'round, it's a gas. Money can't buy morals, character, or love. Money is also one in "The Big Four" of topics not to discuss during a Dinner Party.
It seems to be a driving force behind so many recent news articles. The American health-care system, the Fyre Festival debacle, even President Trump's tax returns. I've learned a lot about money over my lifetime and I'm still not really sure what to think of it exactly.
What will I be doing to make money for the remainder of my lifetime? Why am I finding it so difficult to earn my version of a livable wage? How do I value money in comparison to success? I think now is a good time for me to take a look at what money means to me by learning what others with more of it than I have said about it through the years.
I couldn't find the origin of this quote but, I would imagine the person who said this died alone.
Say, Oscar, isn't that your family over there?
Both of these men started out with millions of dollars. Their pursuit of money was virtually complete upon them being born. Also, money is not the one and only measure of success. There are people who are idolized and revered for living great and interesting lives without having any amount of money at all. The Dalai Lama had a great quote about money, however, he is a man living a structured life without the need for money. He has a perspective on money, not many people are afforded, for better or worse.

I don't find happiness in money but, I know that I am happier when I'm not worried about it like I constantly do. I understand money isn't the only venue through which to find personal happiness either.
Now we're getting somewhere. I like these two.
This is a close estimation of how I value money. I only ever want enough money to keep a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on my table, and reliable transportation back and forth to the job which affords me these things. I've never sought to be rich or famous. When I was younger, I wanted to be a musician, I knew there were more ways to make money other than just being in a world-touring band.
This quote really scared some newly formed perspective into me. The idea being I have done a lot of different jobs during my lifetime only in the pursuit of money and therefore, independence. I know there is a middle ground for me and thus, why I have put more of my time and energy into new ventures.
The "how" of making money part is starting to solidify.
There it is, the one quote I was hoping to find. The one answer to all the questions I had about money.
I find money is a very polarizing subject, even just by looking at the difference in responses to what people say about it. I wanted to try and start a conversation about money, one I never had before.
People are starting to truly understand America has massive issues with the wealth gap and wealth inequality. If you can't talk about these things and put perspective on them, then you're never going to improve upon the situation.
