I'm 35-years-old now and I was recently dismissed from a conversation involving politics and religion, due to my age.
Yes, I am aware there are people older than me in the world.
No, they don't get special privileges until they reach a certain age where they then get Senior Citizen discounts and a certain extra amount of small courtesies.
When I turned 18, I "earned" the right to vote. Along with the right to vote, it provided me with all the answers anyone will ever need for me to be included in any and all adult conversations.
Religion, check. Politics, check. Money, check. Sex, double check, please.
I often feel more people are disgruntled about how things are going in relation to their personal views and desires. Be it religiously, politically, financially, and/or romantically. Instead of accepting and adapting to an environment where things aren't going exactly the way they wanted them to, they instead try to implement new rules in an attempt to make things easier and therefore, better for themselves.
This doesn't work for me and this isn't what I would expect any adult to do.
You want to disagree with me, fine. You want to do something different than what I suggested, also fine. You want to use my Sex, Race, Age, Religion, Political Affiliation, Employment or Economic Status, Sexual Orientation, Personal Upbringing, or anything else I am not 100% in control of to dismiss me, not fine.
It is why employers and most civilized persons have adopted the same rules and regulations. It isn't fair. It isn't just. It isn't right. I don't care who you are. I don't care what your title is.
There are a lot of things considered different in this day and age. I myself, am more than enough proof and evidence of this.
Even in strange, strained, and/or uncomfortable times, it doesn't mean the rules have to match as well.
Treat people how you want to be treated. Be respectful and be respected. The rules are already simple enough.

As I was editing this, I couldn't help, but think of the way people have spoken to and treated the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.
I'm now questioning if, "Denied" is about a problem because of someone's age, older speaking to younger, generation to generation, or if it's more of a hidden political issue.
I don't agree with you, therefore, I'll use your age as my reasoning to dismiss your stance or ideology.
"The Right" really needs to start addressing the actual issues at hand. If for no other reason, they might be able to take a break from constantly finding themselves stumbling over one hypocrisy to get to the next contradiction.
I don't understand how one political ideology can include, "Pro-Life" and, "Hey! You kids shut up and sit down!"
