The political divide is pretty expansive right now. I don't know what exactly started it all, but I know it has been going on for a long time. At this point, I'm pretty much waving my white flag. The chasm is growing out of control and I'm just sitting on the sidelines, watching, waiting to see how far it goes.
Being on several social media platforms gives me access to what I crave, knowledge. I'm a self-proclaimed human sponge for all kinds of knowledge, useless or otherwise. When I'm awake, the gears in my head never stop turning, the voices boom loudly over the machines, and the voices, well they're pissed off.
I finally had to throw down a virtual gauntlet.
I set forth rules to those interested in remaining a friend.
1. Stop using the term, "Chain Migration". It's offensive. I have no idea what my family history is but, I wouldn't be shocked if I'm an immigrant myself. If you don't know your own family's origins, then don't comment on someone else's.
2. No more, "fake news". Like, share, and comment on things you have knowledge of. Believe in the story you are sharing as if you were telling it from your own mouth. No more excuses. If you've made an honest mistake, then you better be as loud about the story being discovered as false, as you were when you believed it to be true.
3. If you're a Conservative, fine. If you're a Republican, fine. If you're a Trump supporter, fine. However, in light of the recent indictments, no more unwittingly standing adjacent along with the charges against Manafort, Papadoupolos, or Gates. If you don't know where you're going to stand in the event President Trump does, in fact, get indicted, arrested, impeached, removed from office, or any combination of the previously mentioned, kick rocks now. You're not going to like me in the aftermath, I promise you.
4. If you believe nothing at all can be done about mass shootings, see yourself out. I'm only interested in talking to people who are interpreting these shootings, specifically, school shootings as a call to action.
They are simple, concise, fair, and they were almost immediately ignored.
I ended up blocking a former boss, a Cousin, and my own Grandmother on Facebook. True story.
I'm am exhausted from all the political gamesmanship, partisanship, and general shenanigans being pushed by people who I would define as being ignorant.
Not generally ignorant, just politically ignorant. Politically ignorant to a point where the things they post and share throughout social media don't come across as insightful, thought-provoking, or inquisitive.
They share and comment on hilarious political internet memes created to serve only as a long stick to "poke the bear" with and other biased incendiary content.
I thought it would be a better gesture to at least explain my side of the story before outright blocking others on social media, but I threw all this out when one friend responded with a page's worth of conspiracy theories sure to make the ghost of Nostradamus squeal with excitement.
The "highlights" include:
- George H.W. Bush orchestrated the assassination of John F. Kennedy making sure Lyndon B. Johnson could become the head of the CIA.
- The Trump family blew up pharmaceutical factories set up by George H.W. Bush, helping cause the current opioid crisis.
- The Bush, Clinton, and Obama families are actually all the same political party. In the sense of a legit political mafia family.
- A collection of information pushing the "False Flag" narrative of the Mandalay Bay shooting last October.
This response made me change my thoughts towards those who have previously implemented the practice of, "shadowbanning".
When the politically misinformed aren't busy spreading conspiracy theories so easily disproven, they pull back, only a little.
They then turn to make their own internet memes in Microsoft Paint on how the Clintons run the FBI from behind the shadows. Of course, things like the Steele Dossier prove this to be completely true.
*wink wink*
When all of this fails to convince you to instantly denounce your "Liberal Communist Pig" ways, how about you try on a highly illogical and offensive stance on mass shootings printed onto the front of a T-Shirt?
I mean, why not? Because when the moral majority isn't busy telling you how much of a snowflake you are, they're fearmongering you into their religion with the death of your school-aged children.
Even though, mass shootings and other violent acts have occurred in churches.
If you still believe, "The Right" and the country currently governed by it isn't going in the wrong direction, consider this.
I don't have all the answers. I don't know what stops the destruction at hand caused by political partisanship.
However, I do know this, it won't end well.
However, I do know this, it won't end well.
